First we pick out a beginning sentence and then chose a square picture card.
We copy the sentence beginning into our book carefully, making sure we have a capital letter at the start and fingers spaces in between each word.
When we come to the picture we need to use our knowledge of letter sounds to sound out the CVC (consonant, vowel, consonant) words.
We are getting really good at using our 'finger spelling' to hear the individual sounds in words.
It's awesome to see the tools the teachers are using to enhance the children's literacy knowledge & competence. Jess just loves reading & writing !!
