Police gear from home

It has been amazing watching children bring in things from home that relate to our Police dramatic play. This shows us that our tamariki are taking home their play and discussing their days with their family/whanau which excites us a lot.  Having children bring things in from home is a way to:

  1. Soften the boundaries between home and school
  2. Create important links between home and school
  3. Encourages conversations about home life that teachers may miss out on otherwise and vice versa
  4. Supports children in learning all important life lessons such as sharing and responsibility
  5. Shows the child that all adults in their life are interested in their play :)

Oscar's Mum sewed him some sweet handcuffs to bring to school.

Koby brought in his police bear.

Finn doesn't put down his handcuffs and police hat from home :)

Lily brought in her Dad's real police shirt and notepad
