EOTC Making Our Own Awa (River)

Today Miss Stella gave ngā tamariki a challenge to build an awa (river) to float leaf boats down. We rolled out the tin foil together and then all picked a spot to roll the edges. Jedd turned on the tap for us and the water started to flow. But it stopped in the middle of our river and started to leak out. Then came the fixing job. We tore off more tinfoil and started to patch the walls where it was flowing out. But still we could not get it to move all the way to the other end. Madison and Aven then went and got their drink bottles and started tipping water down the other end. This gave the other children the idea to move the hose and start the water at the top of the slope rather than the bottom. What amazing problem solving and teamwork you all did today!!! Tino Pai to Mahi!
